Junior High State Dual Qualifiers

The Ohio Athletic Committee has put in place several sites around the state to conduct school sponsored Jr. High tournaments that would take place during the regular Jr. High season. These tournaments will be qualifiers for the Jr. High Dual Meet State Championships which will take place on March 28, 2010.

• Each State Qualifier will be a 10 team pool style tournament with each team receiving 5 dual meets.

• A team does NOT have to compete in any particular district. They can go to any district that has room and will accept them.

• Each tournament will have two pools of five teams. Each team wrestles each of the teams in its pool for four matches.

• The top team from each pool wrestles for the championship and the 2nd place team in each pool wrestles for 3rd place.

• The top 4 teams in each division qualifies for the Jr. High Dual Meet State Championships in March of 2010.

The State Championship in March is NOT a school sponsored event. Only the qualifiers during the Jr. High season are school sponsored and is equal to Two (2) points of the Jr. High season schedule. The teams that qualify for the State Tournament would be wrestling as an independent team at the State Championships and not supported or sponsored by the school in any way.
